Desi's Diamonds have withdrawn from the league
It's been confirmed that Desi's Diamonds have now withdrawn from the league due to their inability to raise a team to play every week, which probably means that for us Choo Choos, we're probably unable to claim the points from our pointless hour at the Coopers the week before last. Despite stealing two of Desi's former players over the summer, the Choo Choos are denying all responsibility for the team's downfall....

New Kit for Monday
The grand unveiling of the new Mooey and the Choo Choos team kit will be launched on Monday 15th October 2007, with a catwalk show down Alley 1 at the Watchfield Inn, nr Highbridge. Although not available to buy in the shops, the new kit is set to be a big hit with both players and fans of the Choo Choos alike, and demand is likely to outweigh supply.
To all Choo Choos - get there early to grab your kit first - remember, the earlier you are, the more likely you are to get a kit in the right size. None of this looking like you're wearing Rik Waller's cast-offs or trying to squeeze into Vicky Beckham's seconds....get there early to avoid disappointment!!
A NEW SEASON IS UPON US !!!
Having thrashed our stablemates Last Years Losers twice in pre-season (by the hefty margins of 1 and 2 pins...), Mooey and the Choo Choos are ready to take Division 2 by storm this season.

Into the final qualifiers for the World Champs!
By the skin of their teeth, we've got another chance to make it into the World Champs finals at Sand Bay. As the team that scored the highest number of points and finished 3rd in the group, we get to play a two leg play off against the next best 3rd placed team, Muppets, from Ross on Wye.
Muppets are a good skittling side - in fact they're last year's runners up, only losing to AKA Predators in the final. Team Mooey has already beaten the Predators once in this competition so we still stand a chance of beating the Muppets, even if it's only a small chance!

All is not lost....
We might still make it to Sand Bay after all. Although we already know we're not going to Barry Island for a night out...more's the pity...there is a play off for the teams that finished 3rd/last in their group (ie us). The play off will be between the two 3rd place teams who scored the most points - we finished on 8pts which is about as good as it gets for a 3rd placed team, so we're in with a shout.

Blackthorn British Skittles Championships start this week!
Mooey and the Choo Choos kick off their quest for world domination at the Somerset and Dorset, Burnham-on-Sea, on Thursday 24 May 2007 against the reigning champs, AKA Predators of Weston-Super-Mare.

New team kit coming soon!
Danny has kindly offered to contribute to the cost of the Choo Choos new kit for the forthcoming winter season. El Capitano is sorting it all out...expect to see him demanding your money and your shirt size on Thursday night....

Apologies for the delay in updating the website. Have finally written some more of the player profiles and hopefully will get them all finished by the weekend. If anyone has any other ideas as to what I could add on the site, or if anyone has any photos that we could publish of other members of the team, then please send them through to me! mail@mooeyandthechoochoos.co.uk (yes seriously, we have our own email address and everything these days......!)
Also could all players who have yet to hand over their £5 for the World Champs please do so in the next couple of weeks? Thanks!
Finally, just thought I'd let you all know that I played my first game at the alley we're using for the world champs last night...let's just say, it was a low scoring night....I couldn't possibly print here what I scored when it quite clearly says below that Jess hit 62 there last time out....

I've witnessed a miracle!
It's true, I have. I've seen Jess hit 62 pins in a game. And no, not over 15 hands, but over 7 hands. 2 spares included. At the S and D. Top score no less. I'm still recovering.

Lynn and Kathy return!
Mooey and the Choo Choos are pleased to announce the re-signing of two of the league's finest drinkers, sorry, skittlers. Admittedly this'll be news to Lynn as well, but Kathy's signed them both up to re-join their ex-team mates in time for the British Skittles Championships in the summer. Whether it was the promise of a few good nights out, another end of season clothes swapping incident or just the lure of a weekend at Sand Bay, who can say.... But all we know is that it's great to have them back and we're looking forward to a few warm up nights out before the Champs start....:-) xx
